SALUTE CASTLE (MAGIC)
There's something very exciting in the water down Brighton way, something that's nurturing the growth of a new wave of thrilling, teenage production talents. First we encountered Mura Masa, the kid behind some of Nao and Billie Black's best tracks, now it's his classmate (seriously), the lower-case leaning salute's turn to take centre stage. He's just inked a deal with London boutique 37 Adventures this month, and the first track they've put out, 'Castle (Magic)' feels like a bold step forward from the 19 year-old. Drawing on the likes of Rustie for inspiration, salute introduces infatuating synth hooks, honeyed vocal samples and skewed strobing beats, while never taking an eye off the more melodic textures. You can also stream the track's b-side, the equally luxurious 'VXV (Way You Do)' now, too. - DC
